Modern Táncsportok 2011 évi Világbajnoksága
Veszprém - 2011. június 23-26.
IFMD General Meeting held at Becej on October 15-16th, 2010 has unanimously accepted that the 2011 World Championship of Modern Dance Sports will be held in the beautiful town of Veszprém (Hungary), the centre of the Central Transdanubian region, located only at 20 km-s distance from the northern banks of the beautiful Lake Balaton.

The town is a quickly developing county capitol in the Bakony hills region, having historical monuments, museums and plenty of amusement possibilities as well as commercial and shopping centres, and being a year-long touristic target for millions of people attending it during the whole year.
The local organizer partner is the member of the Hungarian Federation of Modern Dance Sports, a professional organization for making dance events, named Gyermekmosoly Alapítvány. They have organized the Hungarian Open in 2009, and the Final of the Hungarian Championship in 2010. The venue is a futuristically new and modern sports complex. It is the regular venue of Handball Champion's League matches, beauty contests, dance events, conferences, etc. having an auditorium and supplies for 5.000.

The date is : June 24-26. with the Opening ceremony on June 23rd evening.
This date is at the end of the school season, is not in coincidence with the high school final examinations and are also suitable in respect of most of the university examinations.
Please communicate these details to Your member clubs and competitors as soon as possible to make them able to get prepared for the competition.
As far as the accomodations are concerned, there are huge accomodation capacities reserved in option by the local organizers within a distance of approx. 20 km.s from the venue in the price range beginning from 3.000 HUF/night/person.
A detailed offer and accomodation descriptions will follow in early December.
Catering and other food/bewerage supply possibilities are available on site and these will also be extended by more local restaurants and catering specialists exceptionally and only for the event. The detailed offer will be sent latest in January. The prices are very friendly as compared to the similar prices of the surrounding countries.
There will be also accompanied and side-events to increase the amusement possibilities together with the vicinity and beach resort possibilities of the nearby Lake Balaton.

There are also international airport possibilities (2) within a reach of 70 km-s, and furthermore others (3) within a reach of 150 km-s. The local transportation and transfer offers will be also sent in early February.
For those willing to have not only the World Championship but also some associated dance events, after the World Championship there will be an international dance camp held by the banks of Lake Balaton in the beautiful town of Balatonfüred, for a week beginning from June 27th.
A separate brochure and also a shorter info material will be circulated about this event providing both public presentation possibilities and professional trainings for the participants.
The presentation materials compiled by the local organizers will be presented soon on the new INTERNET-portal http://dance.different.hu while the event will have a separate website also presenting also photos about the accomodations.

As a preliminary advise, please consider that probably it may be more successful to apply for personal touristic visa for each person separately. The Immigration Authorities sometimes treat the group applications for cultural and sports events in a different way resulting in less success.
Please, remember, that the World Championship is only for IFMD members and only for the dances having been properly qualified on their national competitions to participate on the event. It is the responsibility of the national representatives to get convinced about this fact according to IFMD regulations.
